Decide how customers will choose their sizes

Consider a relaxed sweatshirt paired with a narrower trouser. A customer may want a larger top without needing a larger waistband. If the set can only be sold in one combined size, that product decision affects the fit brief and how the range is reviewed.

If you offer mixed sizes, the allocation must identify both components. A line that says “medium set” is not enough when a medium top can be paired with a small bottom. Use separate top and bottom style codes, then define the permitted combinations and packing identification.

Review the set together before packing is fixed. Compare colour and surface under the same conditions, including rib or panels that use another material. A matching colour name does not prove that two different materials will look identical. Keep an accepted set available when checking the complete retail presentation, not only individual garment measurements.

Describe both pieces

For the top, specify the neck or hood, pocket, cuff and hem. For the bottom, record waistband, drawcord, pockets and leg opening. If both use the same fabric, check whether matching colour lots and surface finish matter to the set.

Choose a size strategy

Will buyers select one size for both pieces or mix top and bottom sizes? That decision changes stock allocation and packaging. Measure top chest and length, then trouser waist, hip, rise and inseam on the reference size. Approve grading against the final fit sample.

Document decoration and packing

Position logos on each piece with dimensions. Embroidery, screen print and transfers have different setup needs, so identify the intended method. State whether the pieces share a bag, barcode and hangtag.

Send references for both pieces and explain whether customers can mix top and bottom sizes. That decision helps shape the fit review, allocation and packaging discussion. Discuss your tracksuit set.
